The Malawi Tea 2020 coalition partners 2019 progress report has won the international Hallbars Best in the World Awards, which recognises sustainability reports from across the globe.
The 2019 report focused on the programme in its fourth year, and noted that progress towards reducing the gap between the prevailing wage and the living wage continued.
While “field level projects have continued to show progress”, it is by embedding principles of gender empowerment and better nutrition that we have positively impacted workers and smallholders. As too have community savings groups, which provide opportunities for increased savings and improvement in livelihoods.
