We’ve identified five key social and environmental issues that producers commonly need help with, and our training programmes are built around these:
- Factory health and safety
- Agrochemical management
- Fair treatment of workers including contractual issues, working hours, labour relations and the right to collective bargaining
- Gender
- Environmental management including wildlife and biodiversity
We deliver these programmes together with NGO partners and technical experts. Our training helps producers improve their performance against the ETP Global Standard (949), and can also help them achieve third party certification.
On the ground support
Our Regional Managers support producers in areas where they’re under-performing. They also identify future training requirements as new issues arise.
