The Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) is a not for profit membership organisation that works to improve tea sustainability, the lives of tea workers, and the environment in which tea is produced.
To achieve our vision of a thriving tea industry that is socially just and environmentally sustainable we focus on three main sustainability programmes:
We have local staff based in Kenya, Malawi, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and China, and a London team that supports our programmes (click on map). We work across the supply chain with tea producers and tea companies.
We’re funded by membership subscriptions, project fees, and from accessing public funding and grants. This means all programmes are free to producers.
Our members range from large international brands to small independent labels. Together they account for more than 50 brands and sell in over 100 countries. Membership is open to any company involved in the sourcing, trading or packing of tea from the following regions:
- N. America
- New Zealand
We help producers to raise their performance against international social and environmental standards. We currently run tea sustainability programmes in the following countries:
- Sri Lanka
- Papa New Guinea
- South Africa
